How Bad Do You Want It??

Standard

If we don’t know our why, then what we do is basically irrelevant……

Think about that for a moment. How many times have you seen the inspirational photos that say ‘How bad do you want it?’. These gritty photos, usually of an athlete, highlight the focused journey that goes into achieving what you desire.
Without a doubt, you need relentless focus. Be committed through the obstacles and be willing to make sacrifices.
But have you ever stopped to think, ‘Why do I even want IT in the first place?’. Are you suffering for something that you haven’t given much thought to in the first place?

There is a special term for the ‘whys’ behind a goal – they are called your Super Conditions for Greatness.
Super Conditions are your core philosophies, against which all decisions, communications and behaviors may be measured. Knowing what they are, how they show up and where they are being underused clarifies your purpose and gives you the keys to your own success.

What is YOUR Why? Take a moment to look at your goals and ask yourself the following questions

1. Is this goal true to you or are you fulfilling someone else’s dream?
2. What will achieving your goal make possible?
What is the ‘then what?’ Here is a question to answer that: ‘If I accomplish this, then what?’ ‘If I had that in my life, then what do I know to be true?’ What is your truth?
3. What is at stake if you don’t ?
If you don’t pursue this, are there any consequences. How will you feel?
4. What will you have to give up in order to achieve it?

Think about the sacrifices that you may have to make? Do they align to your values?

Just remember that it’s not just about how bad you want it, you need to know WHY.
.: Your Turn :.

Think about one big goal that you are excited about right now. What is your why for pursuing it?
